Quality Manufacturing a growing metal fabrication company located in Urbandale and Des Moines, IA. is looking to add a Procurement Specialist to our growing team. This position is responsible for the purchase of materials and goods used in direct manufacturing processes of Quality Manufacturing. The Procurement Specialist must purchase goods in a manner that meets our quality, delivery and pricing needs.
Ability to work overtime as needed, is necessary, must be a dependable self-starter with a high attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be a responsible and safety-conscious worker.

Education
- High School Graduate/ G.E.D
- 4 year degree in Business Administration, Economics, Warehousing or related field
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in a Purchasing or Buyer position
- 2 years experience within an ERP/MRP system preferred
- Experience in manufacturing industry preferred
Responsibilities
- Analyzes daily/weekly MRP reports and researches and develops information for purchasing quality materials and equipment to plan and execute the procurement of raw materials and MRO supplies, ensuring their availability and appropriate pricing
- Plans, develops and buys materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner, while ensuring quality standards and specifications of Quality Manufacturing produced goods are met
- Communicates and meets with vendors to gather pricing and availability, develops strong supplier relationships, conducts ongoing performance evaluations of quality, delivery, and cost and becomes knowledgeable about vendor policies on returned goods and warranties
- Reviews quotes, prepares purchase requisitions for MRO and raw materials, and approves and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and the negotiated terms and conditions with vendors
- Negotiates pricing, terms, and delivery schedules; mitigates cost increases and obtains justification to determine if an increase would be passed to the customer Works closely with cross-functional teams, including production, production planning, and shipping/receiving, to ensure materials are available and aligned to keep production on schedule
- Follows up with vendors on the return of any damaged or unordered goods, notifies the accounting department, and informs any relevant departments/individuals requested the damaged items
- Maintains accurate vendor, pricing, and lead-time data in the ERP/MRP system, follows up with vendors on returns of damaged or unordered goods, and ensures timely processing of supplier invoices
- Other duties as assigned

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
