What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Manager/Dispatcher position at Quality Life Science Logistics and Transportation?
QLS Transportation is the asset division of Quality Life Science Logistics, a family owned business with a focus on high value, high security pharmaceutical and other niche markets. We are a rapidly growing asset-based company with the addition of key partner carriers which supports all of our markets.
The QLS Fleet Dispatcher will dispatch drivers, communicate pharmaceutical requirements to drivers, assist with trailer/tractor PM, participate in driver orientation, and support drivers after hours and weekends as needed. Serve as the driver’s supervisor and representation, be the primary communication link to the drivers.
Requirements of the job:
- Confirm, verify load information assigned to driver is accurate
- Answering Driver questions/concerns
- Communicate Security Requirements on Every Pharmaceutical Load
- Be Fluent in and understand the Pharmaceutical Shipment Process SOP and CPCR Requirements
- Send Load Sheets to Fleet Owners
- Monitor Reefer Temps with Driver
- Process and manage Driver Home time requests
- Find profitable broker loads when needed
- Weekend/After hours driver support as needed
- Monitoring driver performance (safety, fuel, etc.)
- Assign Trailer to drivers
- Assist with routing Trailers back for repairs
- Assist with planning of equipment
- Recommend cost savings and implement
- Process work in the most profitable way
- Provide suggestions and implement suggestions for continuous improvement
- Communicate with all drivers regarding ELD, HOS and DOT compliance
- Creating GEO Fence alerts
