Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Health Aide to join our home health care team. The HHA will provide essential personal care and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical and emotional conditions to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and maintaining a clean living space.
- Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals and adhere to safety protocols.
- Document services provided and any changes in client condition in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or equivalent training preferred.
- Previous experience in home health care, elder care, or related fields is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing quality care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have (non-reactive) TB test on file
- Must have a current physical
- Must have CPR
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Allowable Activities:
· a. Provision of housekeeping tasks, which include:
· 1. Dusting, vacuuming/cleaning floors, straightening furniture
· 2. Cleaning the kitchen, washing the dishes, countertops, cupboard and
· appliances
· 3. Laundering clothes and lines
· 4. Clearing walkways
· b. Running Essential Errands:
· 1. Grocery Shopping
· 2. Prescription Pick-up
· c. Assistance with bill-paying
· Reports any change in the client’s mental or physical condition or in the home situation to his/her
· immediate supervisor or Agency Manager.
· Completes client paperwork on the day service was provided and submits timely, per agency policy.
Unallowable Activities include, but are not limited to:
· Handling medications
· Assisting in caring for children
· Assisting in moving from one home to another
· Cleaning or starting up the furnace
· Climbing onto a chair or ladder to perform any chore
· Flipping mattresses
· Installing or replacing curtains
· o Ironing (unless agency willing to provide this service for a small number of
· items such as one or two outfits)
· Lifting or carrying objects over 25 lbs
· Moving furniture
· Moving heavy plants, inside or outside the home
· Moving any heavy appliances
· Mowing the lawn, raking leaves, shoveling snow, or any chore related to the care of the outside of the home/property
· Painting the house or apartment
· Walking, feeding or caring for any animals
· Washing laundry by hand
· Washing windows
· Winterizing the home
· Any Chemical Cleaning
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
