Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the overall strategy, planning, and execution of the company’s end-to-end supply chain. This includes sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and global logistics. This leadership role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and uninterrupted flow of materials from domestic and international suppliers to the production floor and ultimately to customers. The position also ensures full compliance with international trade regulations and hazardous goods shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
· Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy in alignment with production targets and company financial goals.
· Lead, train, and mentor the supply chain and materials team (including Material Handlers and Inventory personnel).
· Set, monitor, and report on KPIs such as OTD, inventory turnover, COGS, and inventory accuracy.
· Lead cross-functional meetings with Production, Sales, and Finance to align supply chain plans with business needs.
Procurement & Vendor Management
· Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and evaluate/qualify new vendors.
· Conduct vendor audits, manage competitive bidding, and negotiate long-term contracts.
· Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks to strengthen supply resilience.
· Process vendor invoices and coordinate with Accounting on payment.
· Oversee daily PO generation and expediting by the team.
Inventory & Demand Planning
· Lead the S&OP process, collaborating with Sales to forecast demand and translate it into material plans.
· Set inventory policies including safety stock and reorder points to minimize E&O while ensuring 100% material availability.
· Oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventory accuracy.
· Identify, quarantine, and coordinate disposition of non-conforming or obsolete inventory.
Global Logistics & Trade Compliance
· Manage domestic and international shipping operations, selecting optimal carriers and negotiating freight rates.
· Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations and export controls.
· Oversee all import/export documentation including Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.
· Manage hazardous goods shipments, ensuring compliance with IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR regulations.
· Act as a backup shipper as needed, including scheduling pickups and generating paperwork.
· Determine appropriate Incoterms for all transactions.
· Serve as primary liaison with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
· 5–7 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics.
· Expertise in international shipping, customs brokerage, and Incoterms.
· Knowledge/experience in hazardous goods compliance (IATA / 49 CFR certification preferred).
· Strong vendor negotiation and global supplier management skills.
· Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
· Advanced Excel skills.
· Experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) or pull systems like Kanban is a plus.
Physical Requirements

Compensation:
Salary Range: $75,000 per year (Based on experience and qualifications)
