Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of residential or commercial areas, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, and carpet cleaning to ensure spaces are spotless and inviting
• Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures using appropriate cleaning detergents and equipment to maintain hygiene standards
• Handle laundry duties efficiently, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or clothing items
• Use manual handling techniques safely when lifting heavy objects or moving furniture to prevent injury
• Maintain the cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and specialized floor cleaning methods suitable for various surfaces
• Manage outdoor work responsibilities such as patio or outdoor space cleaning when required
• Communicate effectively with clients or residents to understand specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service
• Operate janitorial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols
• Assist in housekeeping management tasks when needed, including inventory control of cleaning supplies and scheduling

Skills

• Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning environments with janitorial or custodial expertise
• Strong knowledge of cleaning surfaces, floor care techniques, carpet cleaning methods, and sanitation procedures
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete assignments promptly
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, outdoor work, and prolonged periods of standing or walking
• Customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward clients and residents
• Familiarity with cleaning detergents and disinfectants along with proper usage protocols
• Experience in housekeeper management or supervisory roles is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards or residential housekeeping practices highly desirable
