Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This role involves working in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities, where you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
- Perform various nursing procedures including IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and phlebotomy.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine environments.
- Participate in discharge planning and case management for patients transitioning to home or community care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards in all patient interactions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of best practices in nursing.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and CPT coding is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for patient documentation is essential.
- Critical care experience or familiarity with trauma medicine is a plus.
- Skills in specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health are desirable.
- Ability to perform advanced nursing skills including airway management, ventilator care, tube feeding, and pain management techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
