Role Description The Millwright role at Quality Hinges is a full-time, on-site position located in University Park, IL. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment used in hinge, hardware, and stamping production. Day-to-day tasks include performing mechanical and basic electrical maintenance, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Millwright will diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs, and assist with machine upgrades or modifications to support production. Collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and production teams is essential to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Preventive Maintenance, with experience planning and executing routine inspections and service tasks to reduce equipment downtime.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair, including diagnosing mechanical issues and performing corrective actions on industrial machinery.
- Comfortable and skilled in the safe use of Power Tools and Hand Tools for installation, repair, and fabrication tasks.
- Previous experience as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work with tools and machinery for extended periods, in accordance with safety guidelines.
