Quality Healthcare Development (QHD) is hiring a full-time Certified Professional Coder and Biller with experience in billing for OB/GYN. We offer an excellent benefit package, competitive pay and bonuses if goals are met.
QHD is a Management Services Organization serving primary care physicians throughout South Carolina. We specialize in the formation of group practices, quality initiatives, clinical integration, developing new revenue streams and ACO's. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs outpatient billing for assigned providers and/or practices
- Review claims to ensure they are accurate and represent the level of care provided
- Audits clinical documentation and coded data to validate documentation supports services rendered for reimbursement and reporting purposes
- Ensures codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations
- Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues
- Researches, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors
- Effectively handles and manages denials and appeals in a timely manner in accordance with payer guidelines
- Communicates with providers and staff regarding coding and chart documentation
- Any other task(s) assigned by the Billing Manager
Job Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification Required
- Experience in OB/GYN coding/billing
- Electronic medical record (EMR) experience required
- 3 to 5 years’ experience with physician office billing and coding
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills
- High level of professionalism
- Self-motivated
- Organized and efficient
- Previous experience with insurance payers including Medicare, Medicaid and other commercial and private payers
- Knowledge of payer rules and regulations
- Understanding CPT/ HCPCS and ICD – 10 codes
- Previous experience with Athena is a plus
