The Glazing Installer is responsible for the installation of glass, aluminum framing systems, storefronts, curtain walls, and related glazing components for both commercial and residential projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a variety of jobsite environments. The Installer works closely with project managers, foremen, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install glass, mirrors, curtain wall systems, storefront systems, doors, and aluminum framing in accordance with project specifications and shop drawings
- Measure, cut, and fit glass and framing components accurately
- Handle and transport glass materials safely to prevent damage or injury
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
- Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and waterproofing of installed systems
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with layout, staging, and preparation of jobsite materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Communicate progress, issues, or discrepancies to supervisors promptly
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and service work as needed
- Work collaboratively with team members and other trades on-site
Qualifications
- Previous experience in glazing, construction, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials (50–100 lbs) and work at heights
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
