Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Installer/Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, cabling, and security technology, ensuring seamless integration of systems such as CCTV, alarms, sensors, and telecommunication networks. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced tools and techniques in a dynamic environment. On the job training will be provided based upon the experience of the individual.
NICET I/II certification(s) in Fire Alarms is not required but would be a huge benefit.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure low voltage systems including CCTV, fire alarms, security systems, sensors, and surveillance equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure accurate system installation.
- Run cabling and wiring for fire alarm systems, telecommunication lines, CCTV wiring and power supplies using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal operation of installed systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and installation processes.
- Ensure all installations adhere to safety standards and electrical codes such as NEC regulations.
Requirements
- Experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, sensors, or security systems highly sought after but not explicitly required.
- Knowledge of computer networking, system design, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and remote access software.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices and the use of hand tools, power tools, and cabling techniques.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, NEC standards, and telecommunication protocols.
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
