Accountant & Internal AuditorCentral Islip, NY $60,000 - $90,000 per year | Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMAbout the RoleQuality Enclosures is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Accountant & Internal Auditor to join our Accounting team in Central Islip.This position supports core accounting functions while assisting with internal audits and compliance reviews across the organization. The role plays a key part in strengthening internal controls, supporting the month-end close process, and improving financial procedures within a growing manufacturing environment.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their audit exposure and grow within the department.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial AccountingPrepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustmentsPerform account reconciliations (bank, inventory, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets)Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeResearch and resolve accounting discrepanciesInternal Audit & ComplianceConduct internal reviews of A/R, A/P, payroll, inventory, purchasing, and expensesEvaluate compliance with company policies and GAAPIdentify control weaknesses and recommend improvementsMaintain documentation of audit findings and corrective actionsReporting & Process ImprovementAssist with financial reporting and variance analysisSupport development of management reports and KPIsReview accounting workflows and recommend efficiency improvementsAssist with ERP or system enhancements as neededQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3–6 years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAPAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with ERP or General Ledger systemsPreferred:Internal audit experienceManufacturing, distribution, or construction industry experienceExperience with Sage ERPCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple deadlinesProfessionalism, integrity, and confidentialityProactive and solution-oriented mindsetBenefits401(k)Medical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffStable, long-term opportunity
