Occupational Health & Safety Technician

Quality Electric is seeking a highly motivated Occupational Health & Safety Technician to join our Safety Department and support our work on the ID1 Micron Construction Project. Position Summary
The Occupational Health & Safety Technician is a mid-level safety role responsible for field oversight, inspections, hazard analysis, training, and documentation. Technicians maintain a strong field presence (approximately 80% of the workday), engaging with crews, identifying hazards, and ensuring work is performed safely and in compliance with QEI standards, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70E.
This role serves as the developmental step toward advancement into the Occupational Health & Safety Specialist position.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday
5:30 am to 4:15 pm
Overtime operations on Saturday rotations with the onsite safety team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field safety oversight and hazard identification
- Conduct inspections, audits, and documentation in Novara Flex
- Support and challenge hazard analysis, including JHAs and high-risk work planning
- Deliver toolbox talks and support crew training
- Participate in incident response, fact-finding, and corrective action development
- Collaborate with project leadership to integrate safety into planning and execution
- Maintain strong, professional communication with crews, supervisors, and project management
- Track corrective actions to closure and ensure documentation is complete and defensible
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Journeyman electrician with 5 years of experience (Construction perferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field
- Equivalent combination of construction safety experience and demonstrated competency
Required Certifications (or obtained within required timelines):
- OSHA 30
- NFPA 70E
- First Aid/CPR (current)
- Competent Person certifications (Fall Protection, Excavation, Confined Space, Scaffolding)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) (immediately or within 18 months)
