What are the responsibilities and job description for the ODOT Prequalified Project Inspector position at Quality Control Inspection, Inc.?
QCI Group has an immediate opening for an ODOT Pre-Qualified Level II Project Inspector. Experience with OTIC and LPA project inspection background. This position will as a Resident Project Representative on a variety of State and Municipal transportation projects across the Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown areas. In this role, you will serve as the on-site representative, ensuring field activities align with contract documents. A strong attention to documentation detail required.
What You'll Do
- Perform field inspection of highway, roadway, bridge, and structural construction activities, confirming work conforms to approved plans, specifications, applicable standards, and is executed with a high level of quality throughout the duration of the project.
- Support construction administration efforts, including review of submittals and coordination with the broader project team throughout construction.
- Evaluate materials and field execution in real time, identifying nonconformances early and communicating them promptly to the contractor and project team.
- Serve as the point of contact between QCI, the client, and the general contractor, keeping all parties informed of field conditions and emerging issues.
- Prepare thorough daily field reports, photographic documentation, quantity tracking, and other project records required for the project file.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related discipline required
- Minimum of 2 or more years of hands-on experience on Municipal Infrastructure (highway/roadway) construction projects
- NICET Level II Certification in Highway Construction Inspection Required
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I Required
