Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys
- Conduct thorough factual investigations of actual and potential claims
- Perform comprehensive legal research and draft well-reasoned and well-articulated legal memorandums, motions, and briefs
- Prepare high-quality pleadings, motions, and discovery materials, demonstrating extreme attention to detail, high quality of prose, and meaningful contribution toward strategic goals
- Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts
- Represent clients in court proceedings and argue effectively before judges
- Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidence organization
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to Missouri Bar (additional Kansas Bar admission soon after hiring).
- 2–4 years of experience practicing law following bar admission (prior civil litigation experience is a plus).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Strategic and analytical thinking with attention to detail and the 'big picture'.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel, albeit infrequently.
