A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
As a Business Development Manager, you identify potential clients, generate sales, and secure new accounts. You are punctual, goal-oriented, and pursue your sales and revenue goals for our company from a variety of angles. You use strategic planning to develop the pipeline of new business coming into our company. You love the challenge and variety inherited in your job.
Your intellectual curiosity comes in handy as you spend part of your time presenting new solutions and services in order to retain current clients. Most of all, you love to spend a great deal of time interacting with people through cold calling, social media networking, and advertising.
Your primary responsibility is to use your excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with potential customers as you network. At the end of the day, you are confident in the hard work you have done to exceed your sales goals based on the number of calls, meetings, and the new members you have brought on board.
This is a true Business Development Manager role. Actual account management is not part of the position. Once a new client is brought into the Program, the client is assigned to an internal Relationship Manager. This account manager will handle the day-to-day account management for said client.
