Job Summary
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager based in Houston, TX. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and managing fixed asset schedules. Additional responsibilities include analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing leadership within the accounting team.
Job Description
Oversee daily accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, and payroll coordination)
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Manage inventory and cost accounting (critical in manufacturing)
Partner with operations to analyze production costs and variances
Prepare financial statements and provide insights to leadership
Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Support audits and work with external partners
Identify and improve inefficient processes
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, preferably in manufacturing and/or with food industry experience. Understanding or familiarity with bills of materials and product costing models.
Experience on both the revenue and cost side. Deep understanding of Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow.
Experience supervising or mentoring others
Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools. Expertise in ERP systems.
Someone practical, dependable, and clear in communication
Fluent in English and Spanish
NOTE: Salary range provided will be based upon experience. Local candidates preferred.
