Location: Madison, WI (3-days onsite per week)

Role Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic QE Lead with strong expertise in both functional testing and test automation to lead the quality engineering efforts for a Payments Optimization initiative. The candidate will be responsible for understanding the Payments area defining and executing the QE plan, managing a test teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the QE planning and execution for the Payments Optimization initiative.
• Define and manage functional test plans, automation frameworks, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Build and maintain automation test suites for UI, API, and data validation using industry-standard tools.
• Oversee test data management, environment setup, and test execution cycles.
• Drive defect management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with insurance payments standards, financial accuracy, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and manage QE team members across onshore/offshore locations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong US Insurance markets knowledge - Policy Lifecycle, Policy Admin systems, knowledge payments
• Deep understanding of insurance payment workflows, policy administration, and financial integrations.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured.
• Proficiency in SQL, data validation, and ETL testing.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, ADO, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Must Haves:

1. Lead the QE for the Payments Optimization initiative or other insurance billing systems implementation
2. Strong US Insurance markets knowledge - Policy Lifecycle, Policy Admin systems, knowledge payments modules
3. Mentor and manage a team of at least 5 QE team members across onshore/offshore locations focused on Functional/Manual/Test Automation.

Experience Level: 7 years in QE/QA with 4 years in leadership roles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or hands-on experience with Billing implementations
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and DevOps tools.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
