Summary:Our client is an industrial engineering firm that focuses on improving, maintaining, and expanding complex infrastructures for industries such as oil and gas, chemicals and power. They are currently looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team. The person in this role would be responsible for system designs and applications as it relates to specific client needs within specific industries. Responsibilities:Develop heat trace system designs including pipe heat tracing layouts, isometric takeoffs, circuit sizing, and panel load lists.Prepare construction-grade deliverables such as heat trace schedules, bills of material (BOMs), wiring diagrams, termination details, and installation standards.Perform heat loss calculations and select appropriate heat tracing technologies Create and review electrical design documents including one-lines, schematics, electrical details, panel layouts, and load calculations.Specify and procure heat trace equipment, controllers, power distribution panels, thermostats, and related hardware.Coordinate with piping, mechanical, civil/structural, and instrumentation/control (I&C) teams to ensure complete and accurate designs.Provide technical support to clients, construction teams, and field personnel during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, API, IEC, and other applicable industrial standards.Support project planning, estimates, site walks, and proposals related to heat tracing scopes.Participate in quality checks, internal reviews, and client design reviews.Maintain strong focus on safety, constructability, and reliability when developing heat tracing solutions.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.Three (3) years of electrical engineering experience in industrial environments Direct experience with heat trace design, applications, or field implementation.Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design tools.Understanding of NEC Articles relevant to heat trace and industrial electrical work.Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), ETAP, SKM, or other electrical analysis software.Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward PE.Experience with construction support, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
Salary : $85,000 - $150,000
