Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to design, manage, and support our on-premises and Azure-based networks. You will handle advanced network issues, ensure strong performance and security, and help guide junior team members. This role requires onsite work in Lorton, VA, an active TS/SCI clearance, and experience with Azure networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, including Azure networking services
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems quickly with minimal impact
- Monitor network performance and fix issues before they affect users
- Work with other teams to create and follow network security policies, especially in Azure
- Analyze network usage and plan for future growth and improvements
- Train and mentor junior network engineers and support staff
- Create and maintain clear network documentation (designs, configurations, procedures)
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in network engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN design and support
- Hands-on experience with Azure networking (VNets, subnets, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute)
- Solid understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VPN, BGP, OSPF
- Experience with network security tools, especially Palo Alto firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience using network monitoring tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios
- Experience with network hardware such as Cisco or Juniper routers and switches
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP certification
Requirements
- Must live within driving distance of Lorton, VA or be willing to relocate (relocation help available)
- Must be willing to work onsite
- Must be available for after-hours work and on-call support when needed
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required
- Must be willing to travel frequently

Salary : $100,000 - $180,000
