CNC Programmers

Qualified Production and Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services, serving the semi-conductor, life science and other industries. We provide contract manufacturing services for prototyping, machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities.

POSITION SNAPSHOT

Our team is growing, and we are seeking skilled, experienced CNC Programmers to join our team. The role's primary responsibility is to create programs to run parts on CNC MIlls and Lathes as well as to update existing part programs to new machining processes and new tooling technology. Extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently are all qualities we are looking for in a candidate. We are looking for experienced people who can work quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications and quality requirements of our customers.

Schedule:

  • Day shift (Mon-Thurs, 10 hour days)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Use advanced skills to develop programs for machines based on solid models and drawings including 5-axis programming.
  • Write programs at the machine controller using G Code.
  • Work closely with NPI teams to develop methods for manufacturing of designs.
  • Design and manufacture fixturing.
  • Assist operators in setup, tooling, and troubleshooting.
  • Continually improve cycle times, processes, setup and tooling.
  • Provide input to estimators on machine run times, fixturing and tooling requirements.
  • Verify conformance to dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts.
  • Stay current with new versions of programming software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Vocational training in metal fabrication or machining; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience operating CNC mill machines, lathes, CNC equipment and programming at the machine level.
  • Minimum 6 years of programming experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and height/depth gauges.
  • Thorough understanding of blue prints and geometric tolerances.
  • Functional understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communications skills – both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of computer software used for Shop Floor Control/job tracking.
  • Must be a self-starter & self-motivated.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and related information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience programming with ESPRIT.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

A temperature-controlled production shop floor environment requiring sitting/standing for extended periods of time utilizing computer, keyboard and mouse; may include infrequent lifting up to 60 lbs, occasional pulling or bending at the knees. Exposure to dirt and dust. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, shields etc.) may be required. General shop environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and fast paced setting.

Workload may be unpredictable, and pressure increased during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable flexibility and adaptability. Disturbances of workflow and/or irregularities in work schedule may occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
