Salary: Up to $85,000, depending on experience
Travel: 10 to 15 percent local travel required, with mileage reimbursement
Position Overview
Manage structural steel fabrication and erection projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
\n- Review and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to define project scope and requirements
- Coordinate with fabrication shops, detailers, field crews, and general contractors to support efficient execution
- Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting as needed to meet deadlines
- Oversee procurement and tracking of materials and components to support timelines
- Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and provide accurate forecasting
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety policies
- Conduct site visits, lead meetings, and resolve field-related issues such as fit-up and sequencing
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Identify and resolve fabrication, scheduling, and installation challenges
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing structural steel fabrication or erection projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of structural steel processes and industry standards such as AWS and AISC
- Experience coordinating with fabrication teams, field crews, and subcontractors
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience managing budgets and project costs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices
- Experience with Tekla Structures or Tekla PowerFab is a plus
