Quaker Valley Foods is looking for a Transportation Manager who will lead empower and develop the Transportation team, including drivers in a Union environment. Safely and effectively manage people, fleet, vendors, budget, and other resources in a customer-focused and cost-efficient manner to meet business requirements and support profitable growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Oversee service level commitments, maximizing routes and truck capacity to focus on expense reduction, customer satisfaction, and safety.
• Maintain driver qualification files: assure DOT compliance for record-keeping and address/mitigate issues.
• Monitor the CSA website to assure accuracy for QVF reporting to Federal agencies.
• Develop, implement, and comply with departmental budget: both annual and weekly: review areas of impact cost per case, and Fleet maintenance costs.
• Direct procurement processes, including equipment research and testing, vendor contracts, and requisitions approval.
• Provide creative, flexible, tenacious, diplomatic, and consistent leadership to develop the Transportation team.
• Oversee cost control and KPI performance, actively seeking to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, increasing margin whilst meeting budget as a minimum.
• Champion a 'customer first’ approach. Understands and appreciates customer requirements and quality standards. Engages with internal and external customers to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Act as the escalation point and authority for commercial vehicle and other vehicle maintenance and transport compliance.
• Ensure that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near-miss reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Plan driver resource strategically, tactically, and operationally to utilize the fleet to its maximum capacity, fully utilizing software and hardware platforms.
• Work closely with the warehouse team and other key stakeholders to ensure that all logistics solutions are fully integrated and designed to improve customer service.

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management or three (3) or more years of related experience or training.
• 5 years of Transportation, Distribution, Logistics Operation Execution
• 3-5 years of Fleet Operations Management and related Technology

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:

• Ability to plan and develop routes and truck capacity for operational efficiency
• Proficiency in truck routing software, RoadNet preferred
• Proficient in equipment tracking, Samsara preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience and expertise in DOT compliance and documentation
• CDL A or B
• ELD experience
