The Role
We are seeking a For-Profit Team Lead to oversee a portfolio of for-profit clients while leading, developing, and scaling a high-performing accounting team. This role builds on a strong Controller foundation but adds people leadership, portfolio ownership, and operational accountability.
This is a critical hire for Quadrant. The Team Lead ensures consistent client excellence, strong team performance, and scalable delivery as the firm continues to grow.
You will serve as:
- A senior, client-facing financial leader
- A people manager and mentor for Controllers, Senior Associates, and Associates
- A connector between leadership, delivery, and team development
Key Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of for-profit client engagements, serving as the senior point of contact and escalation
- Ensure high-quality monthly close, financial reporting, and client deliverables across your team’s clients
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for business owners and executives
- Lead, coach, and develop Controllers, Senior Associates, and Associates supporting your client portfolio
- Set clear expectations around quality, deadlines, and communication
- Review work and provide timely, constructive feedback during weekly workflows and month-end close
- Ensure consistent application of GAAP (or other bases of accounting) across engagements
- Support implementation of accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842) and firmwide best practices
- Contribute to improving internal processes, templates, and tools to support scale
- Act as a thought partner to firm leadership on delivery efficiency, team health, and client needs
- Partner with People & Ops leadership on performance feedback, growth paths, and capacity planning
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience (public or private); client-service or multi-entity experience is required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Strong technical foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close
- Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting teams
- Executive presence and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A leader who balances high standards with empathy and clarity
- Comfort operating in a remote, entrepreneurial environment and working independently with confidence
- Prior experience with time tracking, utilization, and client billing in a professional services or outsourced model
- Integrity, strong work ethic, and a desire to be part of an energetic, smart, dynamic, and growing team
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, BILL, Google Workspace, and advanced Excel (Slack, ClickUp, Syft Analytics familiarity a plus)
