Shipping and Receiving Technician

Job Description

We're looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, UT!

Quad Packaging is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Technician to work on our 8-hour day shift (6 am-2 pm). This is your opportunity to enhance your skills working with the industry's most advanced Packaging Equipment. This role includes travel for initial training in Franklin, WI, and Spartanburg, SC. Employees can be expected to be paid an hourly rate of $18 - $22.00 / hour, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.

General Purpose of Job:

The Shipping and Receiving Tech communicates daily with mills to efficiently manage incoming shipments. Effectively manages incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure specifications, accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Loads and unloads shipments, verifies stock, and partners with administrators on inventory and returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate with mills to verify transportation and timing.
• Receive Advance Shipment Notices and verify size, information, and references for each roll.
• Send Bills of Lading/Manifests to Controller and Supervisor.
• Receive outsourced material and verify counts.
• Receive customer returns and compare Bills of Lading to actual returns.
• Enter case and pallet quantities into inventory, create inventory reference tags, and place on appropriate pallets.
• Quarantine product in the inventory system and notify CAM (Customer Account Manager) group.
• Partner with Logistics and CAM group on inventory adjustments and destruction of product.
• Assist CAM group with inventory discrepancies.
• Respond to inquiries from CAM, Logistics, Controller, and others.
• Assist with loading and unloading trailers.
• Palletize finished goods.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the warehouse.
• Mentor and train team members.
• Promote teamwork and cross-train on equipment as assigned.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities.
