If you're a hands-on fiber professional who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems in the field, and being part of a high-performing team, this role is for you.As a Fiber Splicing & Testing Technician, you will perform advanced splicing, testing, and troubleshooting on Outside Plant (OSP) fiber networks while maintaining QOS standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform fiber optic splicing and testing in Outside Plant (OSP) environmentsComplete cable preparation, enclosure builds, and fiber terminationsPerform maintenance splices, complex splices, and troubleshootingExecute work according to Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and construction printsUse OTDRs, power meters, and other fiber testing equipmentTrack material usage, red-line drawings, and daily field reportsCommunicate project progress and issues to construction managementCoordinate with customers and on-site contacts as neededMaintain tools, vehicles, and test equipmentFollow DOT regulations, safety standards, and QOS best practicesParticipate in safety meetings, training, and job-site briefingsQualifications3 years of fiber optic or utility construction experience (or equivalent)Strong knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshootingExperience with OSP construction and underground fiber placementAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and job printsFamiliarity with fiber, copper, duct systems, and industry materialsProficient with mobile devices and digital field reporting toolsDetail-oriented with strong quality and safety awarenessReliable, self-motivated, and goal-orientedStrong communication and teamwork skillsValid driver's license with CDL requiredWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork performed outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 100 poundsUse of power tools, fiber test equipment, and computersRequires color vision, depth perception, and situational awarenessOn-call availability as required for project needsWhy QOSHands-on work building high-impact fiber infrastructureSafety-first, team-driven cultureOpportunities to expand skills in advanced splicing and testingVeteran-friendly workplaceProject variety that keeps work engaging and challenging
