Position Title:Extended School Year Nurse
Location: WBES, WCES, QRMHS
Reports to:Director of Student Support Services
Anticipated Dates:7/6/2026-8/6/2026; T-TH; 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Funded by: General Budget
Qualifications:
●Minimum two years employment as RN or LPN in child health, community health, or relevant clinical nursing setting
●Certified in CPR
●Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing
●Certified or certifiable as a School Nurse by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
●Valid license as RN or LPN in the State of Massachusetts
●Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required
Responsibilities:
●Provide nursing care and first aid to students as needed
●Able to distribute medication
●Work collaboratively with the school staff, parents, and guardians to provide for the healthcare needs of students
●Comply with district and state policies/procedures
●Maintain confidentiality relative to patient care
●Communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel
●Ability to train staff on common medical procedures such as the use of EpiPen
●Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for students
●Initiate emergency care as appropriate to the circumstance
●Comply with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice as set forth by the American Nurses Association or equivalent nursing organization
Salary:$35/hr for non-district employee or LPN
$60 hour RN and for QRSD employee
3.5 hours/day (8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. including prep) elementary and middle/high program
