Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation, ensuring all dishes meet safety and quality standards
- Serve meals to residents with friendly, attentive customer service, accommodating special dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas through proper cleaning, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning serving areas, and assisting with food storage and inventory management
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Help with meal setup, portioning, and presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and efficient service throughout each shift
Experience
- Previous experience in nursing homes, hospitals, or schools in the food industry is preferred but we are willing to train the right person.
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, serving, and food handling within a healthcare or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of sanitation standards, kitchen safety practices, and proper food safety procedures
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach toward residents and team members
- Familiarity with culinary techniques, meal preparation processes, and food industry standards enhances your ability to succeed in this role
