The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Technician.

REPORTS TO:Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security
JOB GOAL:Maintaining all school facilities in a condition of operational excellence so that full educational use of these facilities can be utilized at all times.
Responsibilities:
a.Interacts informally on a daily basis and meets weekly with Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security
b.Coordinates all purchase requirements as related to building assignment
c.Supervises outside contractors performing work as related to building assignment
d.Carries out maintenance work schedule as directed by the Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security.
e.Interacts daily with maintenance and custodial personnel to ensure that job responsibilities and projects are carried out in an effective manner in keeping with the District standard of excellence
f.Identifies and/or establishes appropriate maintenance, custodial, and security and safety requirements to ensure that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety and security are maintained for each school facility.
g.Makes recommendations to the Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security for the proper assignment and scheduling of all maintenance and custodial personnel, including personnel needs and plans for new projects.
h.Reports to the Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security the need for replacement of existing equipment as it becomes obsolete or deteriorates.
i.Ensures the proper management, storage and issuance of all maintenance and custodial materials and equipment to the best economic advantage and safety and security of the District.
j.Assures that all applicable laws and regulations are followed in the storage and management of supplies, materials and equipment.
k.Initiates contacts with vendors relative to supply and equipment availability, purchase orders and contracted services.
l.Supervises outside contractors for safety and project completion according to District specifications.
m.Responsible for submitting completed work orders for new and ongoing projects in a timely manner.
n.Maintains a coordinated inventory control program for all maintenance, and custodial supplies, materials and equipment, as assigned.
o.Responsible for maintaining & repairing plumbing, HVAC systems (past experience with Johnson & pneumatic controls), custodial equipment, serving District facilities.
p.Responsible for general building and carpentry repairs.
q.Supervises firing and operation of all boilers in order to provide the necessary heat and hot water according to season, temperature and demand.
r.Oversees and assists in the repair, lubrication and cleaning of boiler equipment.
s.Monitors fuel oil deliveries at assigned buildings and assists in determining future energy needs.
t.Oversees and assists with the operation, maintenance and repairs of generators serving the assigned building.
u.Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Director of Buildings, Grounds & School Security and/or Superintendent may, from time to time, assign and delegate
Competitive salary and benefits.
Starting Salary $75,000
