We are looking to grow our team by adding a new Tool Maker. This is a full-time 1st shift, hourly position responsible for machining, fitting, assembly/disassembly and repair of injection molds, tooling, dies, gauges, and fixtures.
Job requirements include the following:
- Advanced understanding/operation of common machine shop equipment and best practices
- Set up and operation of manual lathes, 2-axis knee mills, and surface grinders (wet & dry)
- Mold/die machining, fitting, and polishing
- 3 years of experience with tool & die manufacturing and/or repair
- Injection mold design & detail
- Proper use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gages to ensure accuracy of finished parts
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
Job responsibilities include the following:
- Machining, fitting, assembly/disassembly, repair of molds, and performing engineering changes to machine tooling and fixtures
- Safely perform advanced machining operations, toolmaking, & machine shop duties
- Clear communication with all areas of the toolroom to ensure the project stays on track
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Assist with various machining projects
- Mentor less experienced coworkers on equipment and best practices
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Additional appropriate items as needed
