Texas Steakhouse at RDU is looking for an experience Grill Cook and/or Expo to join our team.


About the Role:

The Kitchen role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of food preparation and service within a culinary environment. This position focuses on maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene while supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The individual will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to established recipes, and assisting with inventory management. Collaboration with chefs, servers, and management is key to meeting customer expectations and operational goals. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the reputation and success of the establishment by upholding culinary excellence and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food service environment.
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to coordinate meal preparation and timely service.

Skills:

The required skills such as food preparation knowledge and adherence to safety standards are applied daily to ensure that all dishes meet quality and hygiene expectations. Physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently under pressure enable the candidate to maintain productivity during busy service periods. Preferred skills like experience with kitchen equipment and food safety certification enhance the candidate's ability to contribute to a safe and effective kitchen environment. Communication and teamwork skills facilitate smooth coordination with colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate meal delivery. Flexibility in scheduling supports operational needs and helps maintain consistent service quality.
