About the Role:
We're seeking a motivated Field Engineer to launch their career supporting infrastructure and construction projects across O'ahu. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals or entry-level candidates to gain hands-on experience on Navy drydock and shipyard MILCON projects, highway work, and civil infrastructure projects, working under the guidance of experienced Project Managers.
You’ll work primarily in the field with mentorship and support while developing skills in construction management, quality assurance, safety compliance, and project coordination.
What You'll Do
Project & Field Support
- Review and route submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation
- Compliance to plans and specifications
- Process monthly progress payments
- Monitor schedules, track as-built progress, and help identify potential schedule risks
- Coordinate with contractors and support on-site inspections
- Manage cost proposals, negotiate, and execute change orders
- BMP inspections
- Coordinate with utility companies as needed
- Review and approve daily project reports
Quality & Safety
- Conduct field inspections and testing for compliance with plans, specs, and codes
- Support material testing and quality control documentation
- Identify safety hazards, support OSHA compliance, and stop work when required
Technology & Tools
- Use construction management tools (Excel, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Headlight, Bluebeam,P6, Microsoft Projects)
- Maintain accurate digital records and adapt to new technology and AI-enabled tools
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or minimum 10 years of field engineering experience with proven ability to complete the job assignments
- Willingness to learn, grow, and pursue company-paid inspection certifications (HDOT MTRB, ACI) with milestone bonuses
- Ability to read plans, specs, and contract documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be legally able to drive with daily worksite reporting with exposure to weather, noise, and hazards
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; occasional evenings/weekends and overnight as needed
- Physical demands: standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions with appropriate PPE
- Eager to learn and integrate new technology, AI tools, and innovative solutions
Preferred:
- Internship or co-op experience in construction, civil engineering or related field
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Exposure to HDOT, MILCON, shipyard, harbor, or NAVFAC/USACE projects

Hourly: $31.25-$60 per hour.
The hourly range listed reflects the expected pay for this position based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
