Description
JOB DUTIES
1. Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
2. Cleans food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
3. Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or
griddles.
4. Verifies that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
5. Takes food and drink orders and receives payment from customers.
6. Reads food order slips or receives verbal instructions as to food required by
patron, and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
7. Washes, cuts, and prepares foods designated for cooking.
8. Measures ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
9. Cooks and packages batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried
chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
10. Cooks the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on
several different orders simultaneously.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
(required).
2. Knowledge of or ability to learn basic sanitation and workplace safety
regulations.
3. Knowledge of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and
cooking procedures.
4. High school or vocational school courses in kitchen basics such as food
safety and handling procedures preferred.
5. Must be efficient, quick, and work well as part of a team.6. Ability to withstand constant pressure to prepare meals quickly, while
ensuring quality is maintained, and safety and sanitation guidelines are
observed.
7. Personal cleanliness is essential.
