What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator-Corning 2nd shift position at QQE Summit LLC?
Summary
As a Grinder Operator of QQE, you will assist with receiving raw material, cutting material to length, and loading parts of various shapes and sizes into the machine. In addition, the grinder operator will interface with automation ensuring processes and completed parts meet customer specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Study engineering drawings, routers, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to establish the sequence of operations.
- Monitor and record essential dimensions throughout the process
- Use the wet tile saw to cut materials as required.
- Seam parts to customer specifications using a belt grinder.
- Operate and manage the automated grinding machine and conveyor system.
- Perform parts inspection using calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy.
- Clean parts and visually inspect them for surface defects.
- Ensure the machine is ready and accessible for daily operations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge: Some manufacturing experience, basic math, precision measuring tools (Preferred)
Abilities: Ability to make judgement, 5S area and keep free of dust and scrap, ability to read and write English language, ability to work in fast-paced environment
Skills: Decision making skills, communication skills with supervisors and engineers, time management
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift to 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
