Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Cargo Van Owner Operator to join our delivery team. This role involves managing local and regional deliveries using your own cargo van, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting and moving. As an owner operator, you will be responsible for route driving, load and unload operations, and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Duties
- Safely operate your cargo van to complete scheduled deliveries within designated routes.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups, maintaining proper records.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Assist with warehouse activities including moving inventory, organizing shipments, and handling heavy lifting as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your vehicle to ensure optimal operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission preferred.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Excellent driving skills with a valid driver's license or equivalent commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Knowledge of route planning, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
