Position Title: Supervisor

Wage: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Shift: Day; Night

Hours: 5:30am-5:30pm; 5:30pm-5:30am (2-2-3)

QPS Employment Group has a great Supervisor position available at a company in Mount Pleasant, IA. This is a day and night shift position with the opportunity for hire. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient execution of production plans, promotes a culture of safety and quality, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor is accountable for managing production performance, employee development, policy compliance, and operational improvements related to equipment, processes, cost control, and working conditions.

Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead, develop, and support production employees to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) in safety, quality, productivity, service, and cost.
• Ensure employees receive proper training and onboarding, and support ongoing development through coaching and feedback.
• Collaborate with leadership to address employee relations matters and maintain a positive work environment.
• Analyze staffing needs to optimize efficiency and meet production schedules.
• Track and report vacation, absenteeism, overtime, and timekeeping discrepancies in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor employee accountability and provide performance reports to leadership.
• Oversee performance metrics including quality standards, production goals, and waste reduction efforts.
• Support quality audits and work with Operations, Plant, and Quality teams on corrective and preventive action plans.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and production processes.
• Facilitate communication across departments and shifts to ensure workflow and collaboration.
• Assist in decisions related to machine utilization, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including training and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Investigate and document workplace incidents and promote proactive safety practices.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and promote a clean and safe work environment.

Supervisor Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Strong knowledge of machinery, tools, and production processes.
• Familiarity with quality standards and health and safety compliance.
• Proficiency in computer applications related to production management.
• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally more.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 5–8 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in envelope manufacturing or printing industries preferred.
• Background in quality management and/or color management (G7) preferred.
