Position Title: SOC Analyst (Tier 1)Location: Rockville, MDClearance Requirements: Public TrustPosition Status: ContractPay Rate: $26/hr - $28/hr on W2Position Description:We are seeking a motivated Tier 1 SOC Analyst to join a dynamic and fast-paced cybersecurity operations team. This role serves as the first line of defense in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events across enterprise networks and systems. It is an excellent opportunity for early-career cybersecurity professionals or recent graduates with relevant certifications to gain hands-on experience in a mature SOC environment.You will work with industry-standard tools including SIEM platforms (Splunk), firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security tools, NAC solutions, and packet analysis technologies. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.This position supports 1st Shift (5:00 AM - 3:00 PM).Required Skills/Education:Must-Have Qualifications: • 1-3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, or recent IT/cybersecurity graduate with relevant certifications • Experience with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems • Strong analytical and incident triage abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Hands-on experience with Splunk or similar SIEM solutions • Familiarity with event monitoring, alert investigation, and security incident escalationPreferred Qualifications: • Certifications such as Security , CEH, CSTA, CSTP, GCFE, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN • Experience with IDS log review, network packet capture tools, and endpoint security platforms • Understanding of common protocols/services such as FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, LDAP • Knowledge of security best practices, threat detection, and incident response workflowsAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
