Position: HVAC TechnicianLocation: Lakewood, COShift: Mon - Friday: 5:00AM to 12:30 PM and or 12:00PM to 8:30PM Night and Weekend availability required Employment: Contract to Hire Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experienceJob Description: We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to support multiple customer sites within an assigned geographic territory. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys independent field work, customer interaction, and maintaining high-performing commercial HVAC systems. The technician is provided a company van, tools, and mobile technology and will perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on light commercial HVAC systems. In addition to HVAC responsibilities, this role includes minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance to support overall facility operations. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, a safety-first mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.Key Responsibilities:HVAC Maintenance & RepairPerform preventive maintenance inspections and services on standard package units and split systems, including: Belts and pulleysCondensate drain linesCompressors, fan motors, and blower motorsBurners, heat exchangers, and safety controlsDiagnose and repair airflow, ductwork, and ventilation issuesPerform general maintenance and repairs on steam and hot water boiler systemsSafely handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulationsTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC failuresPerform brazing and copper piping repairs as requiredGeneral Facilities MaintenancePerform minor plumbing repairs (leaks, drains, fixtures, toilets, faucets)Complete basic electrical work within state licensing limits (fixtures, switches, outlets, ballasts, lighting)Perform routine carpentry, drywall repair, and painting to maintain professional facility appearanceConduct service inspections and asset condition assessmentsTechnology, Reporting & Customer ServiceUtilize tablet and smartphone technology to: Access, update, and close work ordersDocument completed work with notes and photosSubmit service reports, inspections, timesheets, expenses, and purchasing logsCommunicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teamsProvide repair recommendations and estimates for larger projects or servicesParticipate in required safety training, compliance programs, and weekly safety meetingsSupport an on-call rotation scheduleRequired Skills / Education:Education & CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredHVAC technical certificate (2-year program) or state-approved HVAC license requiredEPA Universal Refrigeration Certification requiredExperience5 years of commercial HVAC and general maintenance experienceHands-on experience with light commercial HVAC systems, boilers, and controlsExperience performing electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs in commercial environmentsTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of HVAC system operation and sequence of controlsAbility to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level failuresKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practicesComfortable using mobile devices and service management systemsLicenses & Other RequirementsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to travel locally between customer sitesProfessional SkillsStrong customer service and communication abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple service callsDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safetyInclusive, team-oriented mindset.Seneca Resources:At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm - we are a trusted career partner.
