This role is ideal for cloud engineers who thrive in secure, mission-driven environments and enjoy building modern, cloud-native services at scale. You will lead development efforts, design next-generation AWS architectures, automate cloud infrastructure, and modernize complex file transfer and messaging workloads for a critical federal environment.This is a hands-on, senior-level development role requiring strong experience in AWS services, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), containerization, event-driven systems, and DevOps automation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support secure, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions that align with enterprise modernization goals.Required Skills / Education:• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree • Professional background in cloud software development with experience in a technical leadership capacity • Hands-on expertise with AWS services: EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, Glue, EKS/ECS • Strong programming and scripting: Python, Ansible, Bash • Experience building cloud-native applications, including event-driven and containerized workloads (Lambda, EKS, Docker) • Infrastructure-as-Code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform • CI/CD pipeline development and DevOps automation experience • Experience troubleshooting, optimizing, and documenting cloud environments • Ability to collaborate with business users, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass an enhanced Public Trust background screenPreferred Qualifications:• Experience integrating or supporting file transfer and messaging systems (e.g., IBM MQ, Connect:Direct) • Background working in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments • Understanding of compliance, security, and governance best practices in federal financial systems • Experience modernizing legacy workloads into cloud-native architecturesKey Responsibilities:• Lead strategy, design, and execution for migrating complex data flows into modern AWS architectures • Build secure, scalable cloud-native services using Python, Ansible, and IaC tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform) • Design and deploy event-driven and containerized workloads using Lambda, Step Functions, and Kubernetes (EKS) • Modernize and integrate enterprise file transfer and MQ platforms (IBM MQ, Connect:Direct) within AWS environments • Automate cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization for AWS services and applications • Collaborate across technical and business teams to define integration needs, clarify requirements, and support secure system delivery • Document cloud architectures, processes, and operational playbooks for ongoing development and supportAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm - we are a trusted career partner.
