Job Summary
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, and folding hotel linens and towels to ensure a consistent supply of clean, high-quality items throughout the hotel. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong sense of cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and towels according to hotel standards
- Operate and maintain commercial washing machines and dryers safely
- Monitor the automatic laundry chemical dispenser system and report any issues or low levels to management/maintenance
- Inspect linens and towels for stains, tears, or damage; set aside items needing repair or replacement
- Maintain accurate inventory counts of linens and supplies; report shortages to management
- Deliver clean linens and towels to housekeeping carts, storage areas, or designated departments in a timely manner
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions to maintenance
- Follow all hotel policies regarding lost-and-found items found in laundry
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper handling of equipment
Qualifications
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints, especially during high-occupancy periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
