What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Staff Nurse position at QCHC Inc?
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Shift differential $4.00/hr
- Respond and intervene in all emergency situations
- Conduct Patient Intake paperwork
- Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
- Conduct Sick Call clinic
- Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
- Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
- Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection ordered labs
- Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and Provider sick call visit
- Monitor for, report and document changes in patient's condition
- Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
- Ensure daily nursing task are completed within prescribed timeframe.
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
- Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School
- Current and valid LPN or LVN license
- Current CPR
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an LPN in a health care setting.
- One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred
