Job Overview: We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced production planner. The primary functions of this position will be to create, modify, and manage production schedules. This position will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time, for distribution, and in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized, results-driven, and they possess excellent problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are beneficial for the role.

The production planner’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. The production planner should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. A production planner, manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process in order to ensure the company meets all deadlines. These duties include managing material, equipment availability, scheduling production, and monitoring the production process for problems. To be successful as a production planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements. The Production Specialist for planning manages production deadlines. An exceptional production planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly. The goal is to ensure our production operations' smooth with a cost-efficient flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the overall production, capacity, material planning, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, and scheduling activities.
• Should maximize schedule adherence, customer service, and delivery.
• Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.
• Manage the production team so that scheduled goals are met.
• Generates changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
• Leads organization in attaining key metrics, including working capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence.
• Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team.
• Evaluates raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
• Plans and prioritizes operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
• Coordinates production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
• Traces the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies in inventory levels.
• Recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Uses market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
• Responsible for a formalized inventory cycle count control system to maintain inventory.
• Watches costs to ensure the production process stays within budget.
• Manages raw material inventory accounting for fluctuation in forecast.
• Oversees the business's growth while ensuring the timely availability of components.
• Determines human resources, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
• Evaluates purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
• Estimates the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
• Monitors jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
• Obtains output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.).
• Reports on the production status and any production issues to upper management.
• Prepares and submit status and performance reports.
• Keeps paperwork organized.
• Promptly informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
• Develops and maintain close working relationships with other departments to ensure cohesiveness within the plant.
• Collaborates with quality control, warehouse, and other staff.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
• Working knowledge of MS Office systems.
• Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.
• Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software.
• Good at math and statistics.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
• Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take initiative to resolve problems and to help revise and upgrade processes.
• Ability to travel overseas as required.
• English skills are needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business management, or a related field is preferred.
• Chinese or Korean language skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant manufacturing and processes related to the solar or semiconductor industry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
