POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As the Product Manager of System Integration and Test Validation at Hanwha Q CELLS America, you will support the development of product roadmaps, as well as the qualification and release processes for new products. You will help integrate key components—such as inverters, batteries, EV chargers, MLPE, and other hardware/software—into a seamless, system-level solution. This role also involves close collaboration with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical marketing support, conduct competitor analysis, and deliver customer support across North America. Serving as a critical interface between the factories and customers, you will ensure that product quality standards and technical support expectations are consistently met. This position reports to the Head of Residential Engineering or another senior leader designated by the President. Based in the Santa Clara, CA R&D Center, the role requires on-site presence Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. Occasional travel up to 20% is required.

Responsibilities

  • Align with the global internal organizations (global R&D, global product management, global quality management, etc.) and factories on technology roadmap, product offers, product features, and product introduction timelines
  • Lead the product introduction process for the North American market, including product listings, third-party certifications, preparation of technical documentation, and development of training materials for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Coordinate manufacturing plans, capacity allocation, production timelines, and product performance forecasts with factory teams; clearly communicate these plans and projections to sales teams and customers.
  • Facilitate coordination between factories and customers for factory audits, facility visits, product inspections, and testing activities.
  • Assist factories and customers on product quality troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and formulating solutions
  • Develop application eco-system for customers with external BOS partners (e.g. inverter, micro-inverter, optimizer, racking) and vendors (advanced materials) to support the product roadmap and to demonstrate the advantages of the products of Qcells
  • Provide application engineering support to the residential sales team by delivering technical guidance to customers and assisting with project design, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and warranty coverage.
  • Provide product training and promote Qcells solutions to customers and the sales team; represent Qcells at trade shows and conferences
  • Manage product lifecycle, including product definition, assist product development, product introduction, and retirement
  • Stay up to date on PV technologies and industry trends by taking part in technical meetings and industry shows.
  • Approach assignments with a strong sense of urgency, delivering timely solutions and results; demonstrate a proactive mindset, hands-on approach, and a can-do attitude.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance, in alignment with company policy and supervisory expectations, is a core requirement of this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science or Engineering with 6–8 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4–6 years of experience in the photovoltaic (PV) industry
  • Deep expertise and up-to-date knowledge of solar inverters, battery systems, and power electronics
  • Strong understanding of U.S. product safety regulations, building codes, and PV/racking certification standards
  • Proven experience in applications and PV system design
  • Skilled in defining, reviewing, and testing software and mobile applications with a focus on UI/UX
  • Effective communicator with customers, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in testing, reliability analysis, and product quality management
  • Proven track record of delivering effective customer support in fast-paced, technology-driven environments
  • Extensive background collaborating with cross-functional teams and individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Demonstrates strong professional integrity and takes full ownership of responsibilities and commitments
  • Self-motivated and dependable, requiring minimal supervision with a consistent record of reliability and strong work ethics.
  • Solid business acumen with an ability to link technical issues, customer service, and business outcomes
  • Flexible and detail-oriented team player with a proactive, accountable, and collaborative working style
