POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations, assisting senior leadership with our financial strategy, and aligning the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q Cells Technologies, Inc. This onsite position is based out of our San Francisco office.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll entries, and account reconciliations.
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare rolling cash projections.
- Manage capital assets.
- Reconcile HR credit card transactions.
- Complete monthly closing tasks assigned by the Controller, including maintaining accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Conduct monthly benefit reconciliations and semi-monthly 401(k) benefit liability reconciliations.
- Prepare annual 1099 forms and supporting documents for the Controller’s review.
- Compile tax workpapers (tax PBCs) for the tax department of Hanwha Affiliates, subject to the Controller’s review.
- Research and investigate tax requirements across various cities, counties, and states.
- Assist the Controller with sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and excise tax filings across multiple states.
- Support the Controller with statutory filings, business registrations, and tax compliance.
- Assist with quarterly and annual audits, including tax PBC preparation.
- Provide backup support to other finance team members.
- Assist in managing financial matters related to government grants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Controller.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Accounting required
- Minimum 7 years of professional accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes required
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting preferred
