Overview
We are hiring a Cable Installation Technician to support residential and commercial telecommunications installations. This is an entry-level, field-based position that involves hands-on technical work at customer locations.
No prior industry experience is required. New hires will receive structured on-the-job training and support while learning to install and service cable and data systems.
Technicians travel daily to assigned service locations to complete installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install cable, internet, and communication lines at customer sites
- Run and secure wiring through walls, crawlspaces, ceilings, and exterior areas
- Mount and connect communication equipment such as modems, routers, and cable boxes
- Test signal strength and service functionality using provided tools
- Troubleshoot service issues and perform basic repairs
- Maintain assigned tools, ladders, safety gear, and installation materials
- Accurately complete service documentation and work order updates
- Follow company safety procedures and installation standards
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service visits
Work Environment
- Daily local travel required
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Work may include climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and working in tight spaces
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to approximately 50 lbs
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable van, truck, or SUV required for transporting ladders and tools
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route schedule
- Basic mechanical or technical aptitude preferred
- Strong reliability and punctuality
- Comfortable using smartphones or mobile apps for job tracking
Training & Certification
- Paid hands-on training provided
- Company support available for required industry certifications
- Additional scheduling flexibility may be available after certification is completed
Compensation Notes
Weekly earnings typically range from $1,200 – $1,500 based on completed installations, service volume, and productivity.
