Responsibilities
- Safely operate truck and gooseneck combo, across assigned routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Deliver various types of freight, including flatbed loads
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules and minimize delays
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding load status, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit
Requirements
- Valid CDL license with a clean driving record
- Proven truck driving experience, especially with commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers or flatbeds
- Ability to operate some equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load securement
- Strong understanding of route driving best practices and safety protocols
- Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections regularly
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality and reliability
- Ability to be away OTR for days at a time
- 1099 employee
