QC Laboratories, Inc. is a privately owned industrial and commercial non-destructive testing laboratory(NDT), incorporated in the State of Florida in 1965 located in Hollywood, Florida. QC Laboratories expertise is in providing all disciplines of non-destructive testing services for aircraft, aerospace, marine and construction materials.
We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of NDT Technician, preferably someone who is looking for long-term growth and potential. In addition to the job description below, candidates must possess strong customer service skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multi-task at a quick pace. Being a team player is a must!
SUMMARY: Perform non-destructive tests on components for flaws that could affect the component. The testing processes do not damage the structure or object being tested. Technicians look for corrosion, cracks and flaws which might lead to failure of the components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all non-destructive testing is performed in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
- Ensure that all non-destructive testing equipment is in proper working order and in current calibration at all times
- Performs NDT inspection of components and materials processed
- Ensures proper documentation of discrepancies on appropriate forms, work orders, tags or logs
- Ensures that shift turnover procedures are followed and properly documented
- Complies with procedures and company policies
- Evaluate and interpret NDT scans of composite materials
- Assist in other tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade school preferred
- Three or more years of aerospace manufacturing experience required
- ASQ or other certifications a plus
- QA, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) or machine part dimensional inspector experience preferred
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter that can identify potential problems and collaborate with management to take action
- Must possess willingness to assist where needed to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives on time
- Must possess time management skills
- Willing to learn and apply new skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and detail oriented
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Background checks and Drug Screenings will be completed on all candidates considered for hire.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma from an accredited institution
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to learn procedures quickly and be a team player
- Easily adapt to new organizations / technical environments
- Project management on small to medium projects
- Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of equipment, procedures and working with common hand tools
PREFERRED:
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Aerospace experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- Frequently required to sit, walk, or stand
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read
technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
- Work on Specialized equipment
