Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
- Operate paint spraying equipment, brushes, rollers, and other application tools to apply industrial-grade coatings accurately and efficiently.
- Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications while maintaining proper safety protocols.
- Use precision measuring instruments and basic math skills to ensure correct coating thicknesses and coverage areas.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or other lifting equipment to transport heavy components within the workspace.
- Conduct inspections of finished surfaces for quality assurance, ensuring smooth finishes free of defects or inconsistencies.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and adhering to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency with forklift operation, crane handling, and materials handling techniques for efficient workflow.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes, fabrication, machining, auto body repair, auto painting, welding, and construction painting.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, airless paint spraying systems, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of industrial painting techniques combined with knowledge of lean manufacturing principles for optimized productivity.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including inventory management and materials organization.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for coating measurements and material mixing.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to working with hazardous materials and operating heavy machinery in an industrial setting.
