Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineering Lead/Architect focused on Azure-based modernization and container orchestration. The role involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting cloud-native solutions while enabling developer teams to migrate and optimize workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native database solutions (Azure SQL Hyperscale, Managed Instance) and migrate from Oracle on-prem.
- Architect and optimize AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) clusters for scalability and cost efficiency.
- Implement serverless solutions (Azure Functions) and integrate with containerized workloads.
- Drive cost optimization strategies, including autoscaling, spot instances, and FinOps practices.
- Troubleshoot AKS components (control plane, node pools, networking) and resolve disk/storage issues.
- Collaborate with developers to migrate workloads to cloud and transition from legacy orchestration to Kubernetes.
- Implement Kubernetes best practices: Helm charts, RBAC, HPA, Secrets/ConfigMaps, StatefulSets.
- Provide guidance on Azure SQL Hyperscale vs Managed Instance for performance and scalability.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Azure Cloud Services (AKS, Azure SQL, Azure Functions).
- Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Proven track record in database migration (Oracle to Azure SQL).
- Deep troubleshooting skills for AKS and storage.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for containerized workloads.
- Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOps principles.
- Excellent communication and developer enablement skills.
