Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving immigrant and
low-income families by providing health, workforce development, literacy, and community support
services. Our mission is to empower immigrants to thrive by delivering culturally and linguistically
competent services in the communities where they live, learn, and work.
We are seeking a Vietnamese-speaking Lifestyle Coach to support diabetes prevention and health equity
initiatives in New York City. This role will focus on community engagement, outreach, and supporting
Vietnamese-speaking community members to build healthy lifestyle habits and access appropriate care.
The Lifestyle Coach will support the implementation of evidence-based diabetes lifestyle interventions
and help reimagine community-centered approaches to diabetes prevention and self-management.
This role requires excellent relationship-building skills, strong communication abilities, and a desire to
motivate participants to make sustainable lifestyle changes.

Hours/Week Category: Full Time (37.5 Hours/Week)
Location: Queens, NY
Reports To: Managing Director
Key Responsibilities
● Facilitate and lead DPP (Diabetes Prevention Program) cohorts, including coordinating sessions,
supporting participant engagement, and tracking attendance and progress.
● Lead culturally responsive community outreach and engagement within NYC’s
Vietnamese-speaking communities.
● Support the design and implementation of communication, outreach, and program materials.
● Conduct recruitment and enrollment for program cohorts.
● Coordinate referrals and connect participants to additional QARI services and partner resources.
● Assist with English–Vietnamese translation, interpretation, and material review.
● Help plan and support workshops, outreach activities, health screenings, and community events.
● Collect participant and program data and assist with tracking and problem-solving throughout
program participation.
● Participate in training and certification for the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) and/or other
professional certifications as needed.
● Facilitate participant and community feedback using surveys, focus groups, and listening sessions
to inform program improvements.
● Maintain organized records, data tracking, and documentation of activities, successes, and
lessons learned.
● Support additional NYC-based QARI outreach and translation activities as needed.
● Additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
● Fluent in Vietnamese and English (verbal and written).
● Experience working with immigrant communities and/or community-based organizations.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including confidence in group facilitation and
public speaking.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively across partners and community settings.
● Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple
priorities.
● Commitment to QARI’s mission and enthusiasm for supporting community health and equity.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
● Willingness to travel across NYC boroughs for outreach and events.
● Experience with chronic disease prevention, coaching, community health work, or patient
support programs preferred.
● Prior training or certification as a Lifestyle Coach, Community Health Worker, Health Coach,
Medical Interpreter, or similar public health training program preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Participation in in-person community outreach events throughout Greater Boston.
● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
