Q4 Lacrosse is looking for a motivated, organized, and entrepreneurial Summer Camp Director to lead and grow our summer camp program throughout New Jersey.
This is not simply an on-field coaching position.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the Q4 summer camp business—from planning and staffing to execution and growth. The Summer Camp Director will work directly with Q4 leadership to operate approximately 8–10 weeks of camps during Summer 2027, with the opportunity to expand the program significantly in future years.
The right person enjoys coaching and working with young athletes, but also understands that successful camps require great organization, communication, recruiting, staffing, and customer experience.
The Role
The Summer Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing the Q4 Lacrosse summer camp program from preseason planning through the final week of camp.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the planning and execution of approximately 8–10 summer camp weeks
- Help identify and secure strong camp locations throughout New Jersey
- Build weekly camp schedules and programming
- Recruit, schedule, and manage coaching staff
- Serve as the primary on-site leader during camps
- Create a high-energy, professional, and organized experience for players and families
- Coordinate equipment, apparel, awards, check-in, and daily camp logistics
- Assist with local outreach and player recruitment
- Develop relationships with youth programs, coaches, clubs, towns, and families
- Track registrations, staffing expenses, field costs, and overall camp profitability
- Work directly with Q4 leadership on marketing strategy and registration goals
- Evaluate each camp and identify opportunities to improve or expand the following summer
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who wants more responsibility than simply showing up and coaching.
You may be a current or former:
- College or high school lacrosse coach
- Club lacrosse director or coach
- Teacher or educator
- Camp director
- Youth sports professional
- Former college lacrosse player interested in the business side of the sport
Strong candidates will be:
- Highly organized and dependable
- Comfortable managing coaches and staff
- Confident communicating with parents and families
- Energetic and engaging with young athletes
- Comfortable solving problems independently
- Interested in growing meaningful programs
- Familiar with the New Jersey lacrosse landscape
- Available for significant portions of June, July, and/or August
Previous camp management experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Compensation
This position is structured differently from a traditional hourly coaching role.
The Summer Camp Director will receive competitive base compensation for camp leadership plus performance-based bonuses tied to the success and profitability of the camp programs.
$8,000-$20,000
Specific compensation will depend on experience, availability, responsibilities, and the final number of camps operated. There is also potential for this role to grow beyond Summer 2027 for someone who proves capable of building and managing the program.
